I Don’t Want to be Here was initially written on May 15, 2021. I used them in my novel Bad Seed as lyrics to a duet song.

I never really like the kind of places that she does
The parties and the bars she haunts
They always kill my buzz
It’s not like I had anywhere else
I wanted to go tonight
But I could’ve had this much fun at home
Without having to fight

I don’t want to be here
But that’s beside the point
She made up her mind before I knew where we were going
If I’d have listened to myself
Then I’d have stayed at home

And she don’t even know

She hardly seems to notice that I’m not really there
When I disappear, I wonder if she’ll even really care
Will she just keep on telling me things that don’t matter to me?
When I’m no longer the one that she thinks I should be
