The Tillmans have tried to mend theirs after a tragic accident led to the passing of their only child, but it seems they may end up calling it quits after all.

For Landry Tillman, being intimate with his wife has become lackluster. He’s voiced his concerns, but she doesn’t seem to understand, so he puts all his energy into working long hours at their pharmacy. While spending more time at work, he connects with Brynn, someone who hasn’t lost the sparkle in her eye for life.

Isla Tillman, who was once very proud of her pharmacist title, is stuck in a deep, dark cloud of depression. She thought she wouldn’t miss Talulah as much if she could have another child, but it’s been three years, and she hasn’t been able to get pregnant. Her doctor suggests group therapy, which Landry refuses to attend. At therapy, she meets Fenton, a widower who lost both his wife and child.

Isla seems to have finally found someone who understands her sadness, and Landry is hopeful that he’s finally found someone to take his mind off of his unhappiness.

In this heartbreaking novel about loss and newfound love, two good people become strangers and attempt to move forward with life.
